  • What Are The Gerd Disease Causes?
Gerd mainly affects the esophagus part of the body which is caused by the stomach acidity. Doctors believe that some people suffer from GERD due to a condition called hiatal hernia. This disease is called as Gastroesophageal reflux because Gastroesophageal means "stomach" and reflux means returning the flow of the stomach contents back into the esophagus.

Normally the esophagus is the gateway where the food intake is passed to the stomach and from there the digestion process takes place. But here the people who are suffering from the Gastroesophageal reflux the food taken by them is being pushed back into the esophagus again because of the acidic content from the stomach making the food indigestible thus it results in GERD.

So, the question here is what is causing the food to move push back into the esophagus and what is the reason behind the increase in the acidic content in the body? Let's see the causes of the GERD.

There are many reasons for the Gerd Disease Causes but the main cause is due to diet intake by the people. An improper diet of the people is making is one of the causes of GERD disease. For example, eating all the spicy foods and taking caffeine products more is one of the reasons for indigestion.

In America, many people suffer from the GERD disease because of their natural lifestyle of diet taken by them. The diet followed by Americans are represented by the following

    ● Combo orders with a sandwich, fries, drink - Most Americans prefer the combo orders and sandwiched which are high is acidic level and along with that, they prefer fries which has an excess amount of oil and drinks like soft drinks or soda which are having a high amount of acidity preservatives in them.
    ● Double burgers - People love double burgers but what they ignore is the substances used in preparing them for meat they prefer in the burger with additional sauces and spicy chilly.
    ● Such type of diet can result in Reflux Disease Causes. So it is always advisable to minimize the consumption of such acidic products.

Smoking thrills but it also kills.

    ● The other main reason for the Gastroesophageal reflux is smoking. Of course, it is understandable that because of today's busy lifestyle and stress smoking is habit everyone is making. But continuous smoking causes a severe damage to the health and can lead to throat cancer.

    ● Smoking is also of the reason for the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. Due to excess smoking, the smoke inhaled inside make the stomach to release the acidic content and also because of smoke the digestion of the food is interrupted which makes the food to flow to the esophagus and makes the person uneasy to eat.

    ● Nausea and pain in the lower chest area is also caused because of the smoking. So, smoking causes Gastroesophageal reflux which is very difficult to deal with in future.

Drinking certain beverages, such as alcohol or coffee:

    ● The next twin of smoking which results in Gastroesophageal reflux is alcohol. Consumption of alcohol is ok up to some point but it can show severe effects on the body if taken in excess amount.
    ● Drinking more alcohol causes the body to dehydrate and make the stomach increase the acidic content. The food taken will be indigestible because of the alcohol makes the person vomit because the body cannot take food substances because of more stomach acid.
    ● The acidic content burns the stomach from inside of the body thus making the food to flow back to the esophagus and results in weight loss and damage of the throat tissues also. So, drinking alcohol is injurious to health.

    Pregnancy:

Pregnancy is also an important factor to be considered when it comes to the Gastroesophageal reflux. Generally, woman faces Gastroesophageal reflux during the pregnancy period as the food intake for the child is dependent on the mother's diet so improper diet can increase the acidic level in the stomach and causes the food digestion problems.

    Hiatal Hernia:

    ● Esophagus is a gateway where a band of muscle opens when food is taken and relaxes when the food is swallowed into the stomach
    ● But when the sphincter relaxes abnormally or weakens, stomach acid can flow back up into the esophagus. This contact carries the acid back into the esophagus, ruptures the food passing muscle and causes it to swell. This makes it difficult to take the food or drink.

    Medications:
Some people take medications frequently even though they are free from flu. Such medications also result in Gastroesophageal reflux. Regular medications can make the stomach to increase the level of acidity and causes vomit sensations and food digestion problems. People often take aspirin for a headache which is cause reflux of acid from the stomach.

Some of the few causes of GERD are

    ● Being overweight or obese
    ● Eating a heavy meal and lying on back or bending over at the waist
    ● Snacking close to bedtime or lying down right after a meal
    ● Exercise may temporarily cause acid reflux by increasing the pressure in the abdominal cavity.
    ● GERD can show very bad results if not treated properly like
    ● Over time, chronic inflammation in your esophagus can cause:
    ● Narrowing of the esophagus which results in damaging the lower esophagus from stomach acid causes scar tissue to form. The scar tissue narrows the food pathway making the food to not to pass through it and leading to problems with swallowing.
    ● An open sore in the esophagus. Stomach acid can wear away tissue in the esophagus, causing an open sore to form. An esophageal ulcer can bleed, cause pain and make swallowing difficult.
    ● Precancerous changes to the esophagus. These changes are associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer.

These are the cause of the GERD. So, it is always good to follow proper diet and live a long life
